Executive Vice President, Global Chief Underwriting Officer

Nancy Bewlay is Executive Vice President and Global Chief Underwriting Officer of AIG. In this role, Ms. Bewlay is responsible for advancing the Company’s global underwriting strategy and capabilities across all lines of business and geographies, while maintaining AIG’s focus on underwriting excellence and discipline.

With more than 30 years of insurance industry experience, Ms. Bewlay joined AIG in September 2026 from AXA Group, where she was most recently AXA’s Group Chief Underwriting and Pricing Officer and a member of AXA’s Group Management Committee. She established the firm’s Group Underwriting Office and oversaw underwriting governance, pricing, claims, and reinsurance strategy across all AXA entities globally. She was also Chief Executive Officer, Reinsurance, for AXA XL. Earlier in her career, Ms. Bewlay was Head of Casualty for North America at Swiss Re and was President and Chief Executive Officer of C.V. Starr & Company.

Ms. Bewlay holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Catholic University of America.
