Shaping AIG’s Future Leaders
Over 160 AIG Analysts and Apprentices gathered at the AIG North America Early Careers Summit outside New York City for a week of sessions to hone their professional and insurance skills.
Successful careers begin with strong foundations. That was the resounding message at AIG’s North America Early Careers Summit.
In scenic Ossining, near New York City, over 160 North America Analysts and Apprentices in AIG’s Early Careers Program recently came together to adopt a Learn-It-All mindset about the business, be inspired by leaders and gain a greater understanding of how their roles contribute to the overall success of the organization.
During the week-long experience, attendees participated in more than 20 seminars, panel discussions, group challenges and team-building exercises. They also heard from AIG leaders, including Kelly Lafnitzegger, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, and Ryan Smith, Global Head of Talent & Inclusion.
“We’ve curated an immersive learning environment for our Early Careers professionals across all functions and disciplines of our company,” says Kaitlyn Dickerson, Head of Talent and Performance Management. “They are able to learn in an accelerated way about AIG and our industry.”
The participants also embodied AIG’s Purpose and Values at the summit, supporting the Rise Against Hunger non-profit by packing 20,000 meals for those in need.
Learning and Winning Together
AIG’s Early Careers Program offers full-time Analysts, Apprentices and interns the ability to gain vital skills while making a real difference at AIG. The summit was designed to equip AIG’s Early Careers talent with deep knowledge of the company and the insurance industry, helping them gain technical expertise and insights into emerging insurance trends.
“We are all ready to learn and grow,” says Genesis Romero, a Technology Analyst. “The summit also provides a space for us to create a sense of community.”
The Analysts and Apprentices put their skills to the test, crafting and delivering team presentations to demonstrate their learnings. Even after departing, the learning will continue. The participants will meet biweekly in peer-mentoring circles to share how they have applied what they learned to their roles.
