AIG’s Summer Internship Program

AIG’s 2025 summer interns reflect on the hands-on experience, valuable professional networks and vital industry skills they gained from their time at AIG.

In June, AIG welcomed more than 120 university students across North America and the United Kingdom as part of our 2025 AIG Summer Intern Program. The interns gained a deeper understanding of the insurance business through hands-on work experience and immersion in AIG’s Learn-It-All culture.

Throughout their 10 weeks at AIG, the interns learned about AIG’s business, including Claims, Finance, IT and Underwriting. They supported critical teams throughout the organization, while honing their own skills and making vital new connections.

“I’m excited about the level of responsibility that I have,” says Vivien Latt, a Technology Intern in Jersey City, New Jersey. “I am doing work that has a real impact on the company.”

This emphasis on early-career development helped AIG win the 2025 Handshake Early Talent Award for the third year in a row. The honor recognizes AIG as one of the best places for Gen Z professionals to grow their careers.

Learning by Doing

In addition to gaining real-world experience, the program helped interns learn more about the breadth of different career paths they can pursue in the insurance industry.

“Working at AIG this summer has really helped with understanding how the company and the insurance industry work together,” says Adefunke Oyediran, a Financial Lines Claims Intern in London.

Interns experienced AIG’s Learn-It-All culture through a leadership speaker series, mentoring sessions and attending masterclasses on insurance fundamentals in addition to collaborating with colleagues and learning through daily immersion in the business.

Living Our Purpose

The program helps AIG to generate a pipeline of talent for our Full-Time Analyst Program, a two-year developmental program where colleagues are fully integrated across businesses, key functions and regions.

In addition to a robust schedule of events, including time to volunteer in their communities, another significant aspect of the summer internship program is learning how AIG colleagues live our refreshed Purpose and Values. The interns experienced first-hand how we support our clients to take advantage of new opportunities.

“I learned that AIG’s Purpose is more than just providing insurance,” says Ofir Shemesh, a Commercial Underwriting Intern in New York. “It’s about making our clients feel comfortable taking that next step forward.”
