AIG Women’s Open Wins the LPGA’s Gold Driver Award for Best Player Experience for the Second Year in a Row

The recognition underscores AIG and The R&A’s continued efforts to elevate the quality of the Championship to new heights

For the second year in a row, the AIG Women’s Open is the proud recipient of the prestigious LPGA Gold Driver Award for Best Player Experience. Voted on by the players, the recognition underscores AIG and The R&A’s continued efforts to enhance the quality of the player experience, through enhanced facilities to support these outstanding athletes as they meet the moment on the golf course.

Since becoming the title sponsor of the AIG Women’s Open in 2019, AIG and The R&A have worked to make the Championship the premier golf tournament and Major in women’s golf. We have invested in world-class amenities and facilities, tripled the prize money and secured renowned courses.

When Preparation Meets Opportunity

The 2025 AIG Women’s Open took place at the Royal Porthcawl Golf Club in Wales, where Miyu Yamashita emerged as the winner.

The athletes had access to world-class amenities throughout the week. Player locker rooms included a wellness lounge, ice bath, beautician services, recovery stations, a champions corner, and medical and skin-screening services. Premium dining for players, caddies and two guests was available in the player clubhouse with gaming stations featuring ping-pong tables and darts.

A performance area with a player gym was staffed by a dedicated female strength and conditioning team, and offered private physio space, a sauna and sports massage. Additional amenities included a male caddie locker room, courtesy car desk, concierge and player services.

AIG’s title sponsorship of the AIG Women’s Open extends through 2030. We look forward to continuing to set the standard for players and fans alike as we head into the 50th AIG Women’s Open in 2026, to be held at Royal Lytham & St Annes in Lancashire, England.
