AIG employees helped make a collective impact in communities worldwide by volunteering more than 54,000 hours in 2017. In April 2018 alone, AIG’s Global Volunteer Month, thousands of employees in 33 countries demonstrated their willingness to help others by participating in 161 volunteer projects and donating over 13,000 hours.
Whether they devoted an entire day teaching children financial literacy with Junior Achievement, or a few hours walking to raise awareness for cardiovascular diseases with the American Heart Association, mentoring a college student through Enactus, building a home with Habitat for Humanity or packing meals with Rise Against Hunger to be sent to the world’s most vulnerable populations, every hour counted towards community development.
The range of our nonprofit collaborations reflects the diversity of our people. AIG helps our partners make a difference by helping reduce traffic fatalities, assisting wounded servicemen and women, and ensuring that more than 21,300 students in over 800 classrooms worldwide receive programming focused on financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship.
We are proud of the following accomplishments and our employees who make them possible:
AIG will double contributions of up to $5,000 per calendar year—two dollars for every dollar.
We also support our employees’ donation of time and expertise by providing each of them with two paid volunteer days each year.
AIG is proud to support our employees’ generosity through our Matching Grants and Volunteer Time Off Programs. Donations made through these programs are based solely on employee support for these organizations and do not necessarily reflect AIG’s views.
A commitment to sustainability is integral to AIG’s success as an insurer, investor, employer, and corporate citizen. Its people demonstrate their professional and personal dedication to Environmental, Social, and Governance principles as they serve our clients and communities, and further our corporate governance and diversity practices.
As one of the first US insurance companies to recognize the importance of climate change, we have employed our expertise in underwriting and investing to help address its impact on our stakeholders. AIG applies its risk expertise as it underwrites and invests in companies across industries, subject to regular assessments of the risk(s) and adherence to applicable laws and regulations across all jurisdictions in which we operate.
