In the past two years, we’ve shared updates on the unprecedented growth of our Platinum Accounts customer segment—the policyholders who pay more than $250,000 in individual annual premium. Some of this activity stemmed from new opportunities tied to the consolidation of key competitors in our space. Now that things have settled down on that front, where do we go from here?
That’s the question in front of Willy Hammond, an integral member of our Platinum Accounts team since the group originated in 2006 who took over as its head this past July.
Throughout Willy’s AIG tenure, he has leveraged deep experience in risk management and building construction to help manage incredibly complex personal insurance portfolios. In his new role, he retains ownership of some of our most important and sensitive relationships while also contemplating the long-term success and scalability of this talented group.
“Platinum Accounts is an industry-leading concept that adds an additional layer of personal attention to our largest clients,” said Willy. “Our longstanding account retention stats tell us to stay true to what we’ve done over the past 11 years. But with that in mind, we’ll also be looking to grow our team, improve on client touches and expand the services that we offer.”
Based in Denver, Willy has more than 25 years of experience. Prior to joining AIG, he was the Building Official for the City of Sun Valley, Idaho and a firefighter for the Sun Valley Fire Department. In addition, he previously served as Building Inspector for Blaine County in Idaho. Willy also has previous technical and commercial underwriting experience.
