All hands on deck when multiple catastrophes strike

With two significant catastrophe events, Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, occurring closely together, our claims team experienced unprecedented volume in a short period of time—even before the wildfires began raging in Northern California. As part of AIG, we have the benefit of leveraging additional expert resources to supplement our PCG team when needed.

While all client-facing communication and interaction continued to be handled through PCG claims, we pulled in additional resources from across AIG and externally. These individuals are familiar with our business and those we serve. They assisted with back office functions to ensure that our clients continued to receive the consistent, reliable service they’ve come to expect from us.

Our team worked diligently and collaborated to respond to clients after these devastating hurricanes. Here’s a breakdown of our stellar team to give you an idea of the vast number of experts and specialists involved:

  • 23 FNOL representatives
  • 25 PCG property field adjusters
  • 10 PCG property desk adjusters
  • 18 PCG auto adjusters
  • 16 PCG casualty adjusters
  • 4 PCG yacht adjusters
  • 4 PCG Art Collection Management team members
  • 10 auto re-inspection team members
  • 4 PCG Canada claims adjusters
  • 17 AIG commercial casualty adjusters
  • 4 PCG operational representatives
  • 4 global quality assurance representatives
  • 5 third-party administrators
  • 250-300 independent adjusters available through AIG’s vendor management office

Even though it’s been weeks since Harvey and Irma left their mark, our work continues. We greatly value the internal AIG and external relationships that complement our PCG team as we meet our clients’ need—no matter how many storms may be brewing.
