A sailor adjusts the sails

The 13th C. Thomas Clagett Jr. Memorial Clinic and Regatta for disabled sailors was held earlier this summer in Newport, Rhode Island. AIG Private Client Group was pleased to play a supporting role in what has become North America's premier event for disabled sailors. The goal of The Clagett is to provide sailors with disabilities the opportunity to improve their skills, and reach personal goals through world-class coaching and competition.

The event begins with a day-long sailing clinic, followed by three days of racing on Narragansett Bay. Competitors from across the U.S., Canada, and the U.S. Virgin Islands travel to be a part of the world class event.

"AIG is especially proud to support for the fifth consecutive year North America’s premier event for sailors with disabilities," said Sean Blue, Global Head of Watercraft. "The man for whom the regatta is named—C. Thomas Clagett Jr.—had a motto: 'Reach for Success,' which resonates with every Clagett participant and with us at AIG. We congratulate the sailors, coaches, and organizers who made this event one of the most inspirational and competitive in sailing today."

AIG has a strong commitment to ensuring that all boaters are safe and prepared should they encounter unforeseen circumstances.
