AIG’s innovations and efficient client service received top honors at the 2016 European Risk Management Awards held in Brussels, Belgium. The Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) and Commercial Risk Europe (CRE) organized the Awards to highlight innovation, high achievement, and excellence in risk management.
AIG Europe’s Fronting team won the Captive Management Solutions award for creating a new product for a leading client, and AIG EMEA’s Major Loss Property & Energy Claims team won the Claims Innovation award for its client-focused workshops, as well as for its efficient resolution of major losses. A panel of risk and insurance specialists, including C-suite executives from FERMA’s member associations across Europe, selected AIG as a 2016 Award-winner.
An award-winning solution customized for our client
AIG helped a leading client in the sharing economy meet a critical business need by designing a new policy to cover the client’s risks, risks that could not be placed in the traditional market. Harnessing these new capabilities represented the result of strong collaboration both within AIG and between AIG and the broker Aon Risk Solutions. Colleagues in AIG’s Multinational, Casualty, Underwriting, Credit, Legal, and Claims teams worked together, and with Aon Risk Solutions, to help cover the client’s risk exposures while meeting local regulations. Salil Bhalla, AIG’s Head of Complex Multinational, UK, commented, “It’s a real honor to be recognized for our fronting capabilities. The solution we developed has been very well received by the client and broker.”
Client-empowering initiatives earn recognition
AIG EMEA’s Major Loss Property & Energy Claims team organizes innovative workshops that have proved immensely popular among clients. These workshops provide clients with insights into risk management techniques, empowering clients to reduce both the likelihood and the size of their claims while helping clients mitigate any losses that do occur. Workshops are tailored to client needs and can range from one-hour sessions to all-day events. The Awards jury praised AIG for these unique initiatives to understand and act upon clients’ needs.
At the Awards, the Major Loss Property & Energy Claims team also received recognition for delivering superior claims service to clients. In the event of a major claim, the team confirms coverage to the client quickly and helps to offer immediate working funds. The team promises to deliver 50% of AIG’s share of the agreed-upon estimate within seven days to help cover the client’s damaged property repairs, clean-up costs, and increased costs of working. Responding to major loss claims in the Netherlands, the AIG team demonstrated its ability to provide rapid coverage to help meet clients’ needs in challenging times. Efficient site inspections, early payment, and quick conclusions generated positive feedback for AIG from the broker.
John Kelly, Head of Major Loss Property & Energy Claims, EMEA, and Jeroen Vollers, Major Loss Adjuster, Netherlands, accepted the award on behalf of the team. Kelly commented, “This award is truly special, as it is our first Property Claims award in Europe outside of the UK. It is great to be recognized for the work we are doing. We continually look to be there to assist our clients in their moment of need. Our focus is on speed of response and payment.”
