AIG Poland General Managers Agnieszka Żołędziowska-Kulig and Mariusz Młynarczyk, who spent 12 years working for AIG in Poland, have been honored by the Polish Insurance Association (PIU) in recognition of their services to the insurance industry.
The PIU rewards those individuals and institutions working within insurance, who have made a significant contribution to the development of the Polish insurance market. The award also honors academics or educational institutions whose work has served to raise awareness and enhance knowledge of the insurance industry in Poland.
The PIU assesses the professional achievements of candidates on the basis of the following criteria:
- Contribution to the development of insurance business in Poland;
- Contribution to the wider community for the development of the insurance market; and
- Contribution through education to raise awareness of insurance (e.g. through academic, journalistic or literary work).
Agnieszka Żołędziowska-Kulig has served as General Manager of AIG in Poland for the last five years. Under her leadership, AIG in Poland has developed several innovations for the local insurance industry.
Mariusz Młynarczyk spent 12 years at AIG in Poland and has recently relocated to London as EMEA's Chief Underwriting Officer for Financial Lines. Over the years, he has been involved with developing new products, including specific insurance solutions to cover Director and Officers (D&O) insurance and Financial Institutions Professional Indemnity (FIPI) risks related to Poland's mass privatization program, which began in the late 90's. Recently, Mariusz also served as Chief Operating Officer and Commercial Manager for AIG in Poland.
Commenting on the award, Agnieszka said, "I am very pleased to receive this award. It is wonderful to receive recognition for the work I've been doing for almost 20 years. The award is also enormously encouraging with regards to my hopes for the future of the Polish market."
Mariusz added, "Receiving the award is great honor for me personally, but it is also recognition of what AIG and the Financial Lines team has been able to achieve in Poland. We have been pioneers in bringing Financial Lines products to the country, and developing the market. It has been team effort, and I accept this award "on behalf" of AIG Poland Financial Lines."
The Polish Insurance Association is a local trade organization representing all insurance companies operating in Poland. The main tasks of the PIU are to support the legislature in establishing law.
