Disaster Mortgage Coverage

The last thing one wants to worry about in the aftermath of a natural catastrophe is paying the mortgage. In the event your client’s home becomes uninhabitable for over 48 hours following a natural disaster, disaster mortgage coverage reimburses monthly mortgage payments. Designed to complement your client’s existing primary homeowners policy, coverage does not apply to property repair or rebuilding.

The AIG Companies’ disaster mortgage coverage offers payment solutions for temporarily or permanently uninhabitable homes:

Temporarily uninhabitable homes can have the mortgage payments reimbursed until the home is repaired or replaced for up to a maximum of 12 months

Permanently uninhabitable homes will receive a lump-sum payment towards the outstanding balance of their mortgages
