With unsafe driving practices and hazardous road conditions posing a growing public health risk around the world, AIG became a founding member of Together for Safer Roads – an innovative coalition of nine global private enterprise leaders determined to raise awareness about road safety and reduce the number of preventable traffic accident fatalities.

The 2014 Road Safety Tour in China spearheaded AIG’s global Road Safety campaign, with a 20m Big Rig travelling through six cities over 48 days, carrying a life-saving load of educational and informational tools on driving safety to over 28,000 students and community members.

“As the world’s leading insurance company, AIG is committed to our long-term development in China as a responsible corporate citizen,” explained Eric Zheng, President and CEO of AIG China. “Our goal is not only to reduce the total loss from road traffic accidents, but to help prevent them from happening in the first place. In this regard, the Road Safety Tour has played an important role in educating the public about how to improve road safety in China.”
