In September, AIG partnered with Greenlight for Girls (g4g) to run a Design Hackathon at the Southbank Centre in London. g4g is an organization that encourages girls of all ages and backgrounds to pursue STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) subjects.
60 girls, aged 12 to 18, worked together in teams to develop creative solutions to address the societal issue of securing strong financial futures for women from all backgrounds. Attendees were able to interact with professional role models and develop real-world skills all while building on the idea that anything is possible.
On International Day of the Girl in October, at the Southbank Centre, the winning team presented a prototype of an educational app that could help women plan stronger financial futures. Watch the video of the event here.
