President and Chief Executive Officer, AIGVIEW PROFILE
Peter D. Hancock was named President and Chief Executive Officer of AIG in September 2014, when he was also elected to the AIG Board of Directors. Previously, Mr. Hancock served as CEO of AIG Property Casualty. He joined AIG in 2010 as Executive Vice President, Finance, Risk, and Investments.
Mr. Hancock has spent his entire career in financial services,
including 20 years at J.P. Morgan, where he established the Global
Derivatives Group, ran the Global Fixed Income business and Global
Credit portfolio, and served as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer and
Chief Risk Officer. He co-founded and served as President of
Integrated Finance Limited, an advisory firm specializing in strategic
risk management, asset management, and innovative pension solutions.
He joined AIG from KeyCorp, where he was Vice-Chairman, responsible
for Key National Banking.
Mr. Hancock is a board member of The Geneva Association, and a member of The Business Council, the Business Roundtable, the International Advisory Board of BritishAmerican Business, and the 30% Club. He is Vice-Chairman of the Together for Safer Roads Coalition. In 2014, he received the Corporate Citizenship Award from BritishAmerican Business. He is a William Pitt Fellow of Pembroke College, Cambridge.
Mr. Hancock was raised in Hong Kong and later attended Oxford
University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in politics,
philosophy, and economics.
Executive Vice President and Chief AuditorVIEW PROFILE
Martha Gallo is Executive Vice President and Chief Auditor. She joined AIG in May 2015.
Ms. Gallo has more than 30 years of experience from JP Morgan Chase, where she served in a variety of executive roles, most recently as Head of Compliance and Regulatory Management, and, before that, as General Auditor. In recent years, she has worked extensively with major regulators in key jurisdictions around the world.
Ms. Gallo’s strategic direction, deep understanding of risk and control frameworks, and insights into the regulatory landscape serve as touchstones for the entire company and the Board’s Audit Committee.
She is a graduate of Cornell University, with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies and a M.B.A. in Accounting and Finance. Ms. Gallo currently serves on the Board of the Battery Park City Authority and is Co-Chair of the Women’s Refugee Commission Board.
Executive Vice President and Chief Investment OfficerVIEW PROFILE
Doug Dachille is Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of AIG. He oversees the Science function. Before joining AIG in September 2015, Mr. Dachille served as CEO of First Principles Capital Management LLC., an investment management firm which AIG acquired and now operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary.
Mr. Dachille is a proven leader in financial services and investments, with more than 25 years of experience in creating asset management solutions, and has a deep understanding of client liabilities. Prior to co-founding First Principles, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Zurich Capital Markets, an integrated alternative investment asset management and structured product subsidiary of Zurich Financial Services.
He began his career at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where he served as Global Head of Proprietary Trading and co-Treasurer, and built the hybrid derivatives business.
Mr. Dachille earned his Bachelor of Science degree in a special joint program through Union University and Albany Medical College, and later was a Pew Scholar in Medicine, Arts, and Social Sciences at the University of Chicago.
Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer ConsumerVIEW PROFILE
Kevin Hogan is Chief Executive Officer of Consumer. He rejoined AIG in October 2013 and is responsible for AIG’s Retirement, Life, and Personal Insurance businesses, providing annuities, mutual funds, life, health, disability, auto, personal accident, personal property, and service programs including extended warranty and travel insurance products and services. AIG’s Japan operations and the Consumer Claims organization will report to Mr. Hogan.
Mr. Hogan, who previously had a 24-year career at AIG, was most recently Chief Executive Officer of Global Life, Zurich Insurance Group, and was a member of the Zurich Executive Committee.
Mr. Hogan started his career in 1984 at AIG with American International Underwriters (AIU) in New York, and subsequently held management positions in Chicago, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore. In 1998, he was appointed President of AIG’s Accident & Health division in New York and was elected an AIG Vice President in 2001. In 2002, he also became Chief Operating Officer of AIU.
In 2003, Mr. Hogan moved to Beijing to assume responsibility for AIG’s partnership with the People’s Insurance Company of China. In 2005, he became AIG’s Senior Life Division Executive for China and Taiwan, where he was responsible for AIA China and Nan-Shan. In 2008, he returned to New York as AIG’s Chief Distribution Officer, Foreign Life and Retirement Services.
Mr. Hogan joined Zurich in December 2008 as CEO, Global Life Americas. In this role, he led Zurich’s life insurance business in North and South America, with accountability for Farmers Life and Zurich’s Latin America Life Operations. He became CEO, Global Life, in July 2010.
He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Council of Life Insurers, the Japan Society, St. John’s University School of Risk Management and the Chatham Day School. Mr. Hogan is a graduate of Dartmouth College.
Executive Vice President AIG Chief Operating OfficerVIEW PROFILE
Jeffrey Hurd is AIG Chief Operating Officer, overseeing Transformation, Human Resources, Global Business Services, Administration, and Corporate Marketing and Communications. Prior to 2010, he was AIG Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, with oversight responsibility for AIG's global operations and systems and corporate administration. Mr. Hurd was also Senior Vice President – Head of Asset Management restructuring, responsible for the sale of AIG’s external asset management business and the restructuring of AIG's asset management function. He also served as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of AIG Global Real Estate from May until August of 2009.
Prior to 2009, Mr. Hurd was Senior Managing Director, Chief
Administrative Officer and General Counsel of AIG Investments, with
responsibility for the management of the legal, compliance, human
resources, finance, and business strategy functions of the firm. He
was also a Deputy General Counsel of AIG.
Mr. Hurd joined the AIG Corporate Legal Department in 1998. In 1999, he was named Associate General Counsel of AIG – Mergers & Acquisitions, with responsibility for all legal aspects of AIG's worldwide acquisition, disposition, joint venture, and strategic investment activities. In 2003, he was named General Counsel of AIG Investments.
Prior to joining AIG, Mr. Hurd was in private practice at Morgan
Lewis & Bockius in New York, focusing on private equity, M&A,
and other corporate transactions. He earned a B.A., magna cum laude,
in Political Science from Union College and a J.D., cum laude, from
New York University School of Law. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa
and is licensed to practice law in New York.
Executive Vice President and Chief Information OfficerVIEW PROFILE
Mr. Fasano joined AIG in October 2014 from Kaiser Permanente, where he was Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer. He has extensive experience leading information technology programs at complex global companies, is a proven leader in the information technology field, and has served as Chief Information Officer at several high-profile financial services firms over the course of his 30-year career.
During his tenure at Kaiser Permanente, the largest not-for-profit health plan and health care provider in the United States, Mr. Fasano drove the substantial turnaround of their broad technology capabilities, including implementing KP Health Connect, the world’s largest civilian medical record system. He also conceived and executed Kaiser’s digital health strategy, including the launch of consumer-focused mobile applications as well as mobile platforms used by the clinical staff.
Prior to his role at Kaiser Permanente, Mr. Fasano founded Capital Sourcing Group in 2005, a company focused on providing strategic advice and consulting services to the Fortune 500 and the Department of Homeland Security.
Mr. Fasano has also served in IT leadership roles at financial services organizations. At Capital One Financial, he was the Business Information Officer; he served as Chief Information Officer at JP Morgan Chase and Deutsche Financial Services; and was a Managing Director at Bankers Trust, among other companies.
Mr. Fasano earned an MBA from Long Island University in New York, and a Bachelor of Science from the New York Institute of Technology. He is on the board of INFOBLOX and a member of Oracle’s Presidents Council. Mr. Fasano is also the author of Transforming Health Care: The Financial Impact of Technology, Electronic Tools and Data Mining.
Executive Vice President and General Counsel Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, and Government AffairsVIEW PROFILE
Thomas A. Russo joined AIG in February 2010 as Executive Vice President and General Counsel, with responsibility for Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, and Government Affairs.
Prior to joining AIG, Mr. Russo served as senior counsel in the New York office of the law firm Patton Boggs. Before he joined Patton Boggs, Mr. Russo was a vice chairman of Lehman Brothers Inc. and was the chief legal officer of Lehman Brothers Holdings from January 1993 to December 2008. Prior to joining Lehman, Mr. Russo was a senior partner and member of the management committee at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, where he specialized in SEC and CFTC enforcement and regulation, derivatives, and financial and general corporate law. He also served as an advisor to the Brady Commission and as deputy general counsel of the CFTC and later the first director of the CFTC's Division of Trading and Markets.
A thought leader on financial market issues, Mr. Russo has testified before Congress on numerous occasions and has been a frequent participant at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. He has also written more than 70 articles on topics in the commodities, securities and banking fields relating to financial market regulation. Mr. Russo co-authored the federal securities law book “Regulation of Brokers, Dealers and Securities Markets,” published by Warren, Gorham & Lamont. He also authored “Regulation of the Commodities Futures and Options Markets,” a two-volume treatise on federal commodities laws published by Shepard's/McGraw-Hill. He recently co-authored “The 2008 Financial Crisis and Its Aftermath: Addressing the Next Debt Challenge,” published by the Group of Thirty.
Mr. Russo earned his J.D. and M.B.A. from Cornell University, and received his undergraduate degree from Fordham University , where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa .
Executive Vice President Chief Financial OfficerVIEW PROFILE
Sid Sankaran is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at AIG. Prior to joining the company as Chief Risk Officer in October 2010, Sid was a partner in the Finance and Risk practice at Oliver Wyman Financial Services, heading the firm’s Toronto office.
Sid is a financial services expert with deep background in capital, actuarial, risk, strategy, and performance management. Earlier in his career, Sid worked at Mercer Risk, Finance & Insurance Consulting and MMC Enterprise Risk, focusing on risk management, insurance company valuation, and mergers and acquisitions.
Sid holds a Bachelor of Mathematics degree with a specialization in
actuarial science and graduated with distinction from the University
of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. He serves on the Board of the Greater
New York chapter of the American Red Cross.
Executive Vice President Chief Risk OfficerVIEW PROFILE
Alessa Quane is Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer for
AIG. In this capacity, she heads the Global Enterprise Risk Management
function and is responsible for all aspects of risk management across
the firm, reinsurance, and value based performance metrics.During her
nearly 20 years with AIG, Alessa has held positions of increasing
responsibility within Risk and Actuarial. She most recently served as
Chief Corporate Actuary and head of Global Actuarial and Value
Management, and immediately prior as Chief Risk Officer of AIG
Commercial Insurance, where she was a member of the AIG Enterprise
Risk Management Senior Leadership Team with responsibility for
managing risk across the global commercial insurance business. Alessa
has extensive experience in both the domestic and international
markets, having spent 13 years in Europe. She started the Pricing and
Corporate Actuarial functions in Europe and the UK after which she
moved to NY to start the ERM function for the international business
within Property Casualty.
Alessa is a member of the United Guaranty Board of Directors and also
serves on the AIG Pension Investment Committee. Prior to joining AIG,
she worked for Allstate in pricing and research for non-standard
auto.Alessa is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a member of
the American Academy of Actuaries and an affiliate member of the
Institute of Actuaries. In addition, she is a founding member of the
Casualty Actuaries of Europe, served as a member on the International
Issues Committee of the CAS, and is an active presenter on various ERM
topics. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business
Administration with a major in Actuarial Science from Drake
Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Commercial, AIGVIEW PROFILE
Robert S. Schimek is Executive Vice President and CEO of Commercial,
overseeing AIG’s commercial insurance businesses worldwide. He is
responsible for the company’s global property, casualty and financial
lines products and services, including Commercial distribution,
underwriting, claims and operations.
Previously, Mr. Schimek was Chief Executive Officer of the Americas for AIG, responsible for the division’s insurance business in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Prior to that, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of EMEA, and Chief Financial Officer of AIG’s global property casualty business.
Before joining AIG, Mr. Schimek was a partner at Deloitte &
Touche L.L.P. where, for 18 years, he used his public accounting
experience to serve global financial institution clients, including
MetLife, The Prudential, and Merrill Lynch.
Mr. Schimek is a C.P.A. He earned his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Rider University in New Jersey and sits on the Rider University Board of Trustees.
Mr. Schimek is a member of the Board of Directors of BritishAmerican
Business. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Council
of the Americas and a member of the Board of Directors of the American
Insurance Association (AIA).
