In the 2017 National Underwriter Risk Manager Choice Awards, risk managers named AIG first choice for an impressive majority of 12 out of 20 commercial product areas. Now in their tenth year, the Risk Manager Choice Awards identify risk managers’ preferred insurance providers for reducing risks.
The annual Awards highlight the results of a national survey of risk professionals conducted by insurance research firm Flaspöhler in conjunction with insurance news publisher National Underwriter.
In the 2017 Awards, risk managers recognized AIG as Top Carrier across 12 product lines: cyber liability, business interruption, commercial excess flood, commercial multi-peril, construction and engineering, E&O, general liability, inland marine (tie), medical malpractice, product liability, terrorism, and umbrella/excess liability.
Rob Schimek, CEO of AIG Commercial Insurance, commented, “Being named the best carrier in a dozen commercial product categories by National Underwriter shows the strength of our people and how we’re continuing to build momentum….”
AIG received the Awards at a ceremony held on the first day of the 2017 Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) conference and exhibition in Philadelphia. The four-day RIMS event included over 150 educational sessions, keynote presentations, and special events and featured more than 400 exhibitors.
Throughout the RIMS conference, members of AIG’s Commercial Leadership Team held over 500 meetings with clients and brokers. The meeting suite included opportunities to experience AIG through stations focused on claims, multinational insurance, innovation, and Client Risk Solutions. Through demos of our technology and thought leadership, these stations offered a window into how we work to deliver excellence in claims service, how our multinational coverage can enable new opportunities for businesses, how we can help risk managers identify emerging risks arising from the Internet of Things, and how we are partnering with our clients to deliver deep insights that can help reduce risks.
AIG’s exhibit booth at RIMS featured demos of claims technology and interactive displays, as well as a visit from Richie McCaw, AIG ambassador and former captain of the AIG-sponsored New Zealand rugby team, the All Blacks. Visitors to the exhibit used a touch-screen to explore Sensing the Next Wave, AIG’s award-winning interactive infographic illustrating potential opportunities and risks of the Internet of Things.
During RIMS, AIG employees also participated in an AIG-sponsored race, the Spencer Educational Foundation 5K Fun Run, to support risk management and insurance education.
