Building on last year’s Best Private General Insurance award, AIG is one of only five companies designated best insurance company of the year as winners of The Best V Insurance of The Year 2015 at the Indonesia Insurance Awards (IIA). Although chosen based on a total score, AIG placed first for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and second for both Information Technology (IT) and Human Capital within that total.

In a market with over 130 insurance companies, the 2015 competition was even more intense than in previous years with all eligible companies competing against each other in a single category. Prior to 2015, IIA separated nominees into categories based on ownership structure (state-owned, privately owned, or joint venture companies), so, with only two of this year’s winners joint ventures, the 2015 award is a significant win for the Indonesia team.

The IIA award, given out annually by Economic Review Magazine (Bahasa Business magazine) in partnership with Perbanas Institute (a university for banking and finance) is a prestigious one in the Indonesian market. Winning involves eligible companies delivering a formal presentation about their business performance, innovation, and achievements in the areas of Marketing, Finance, Communications, CSR, IT, Good Corporate Governance, and Human Capital. During the presentation, a Q&A session conducted by a panel of five expert judges adds significant weight to the final designation of winners and runners up.
