AIG Hong Kong won top honors for diversity and inclusion in a 2016 innovation competition for human resources. Bringing together industry leaders to celebrate excellence in the field of human resources, the annual HR Innovation Awards, sponsored by Human Resources Magazine, recognize individuals, teams, and companies for outstanding achievements in people management.
At the 2016 Awards, AIG Hong Kong earned the top prize of Gold in the Excellence in Employee Diversity & Inclusion Strategies category. This prize recognized AIG Hong Kong for its well-rounded HR strategy aimed at ensuring that diversity and inclusion are both at the heart of the corporate culture and a business imperative. The prize honored the substantive efforts of AIG Hong Kong’s Young Talent, Women’s, and Disability Employee Resource Groups to help innovate company culture and to embed diversity and inclusion as core values in everyday business practices.
The winners of the HR Innovation Awards were recognized at a gala ceremony at the Hotel ICON in Hong Kong in October, 2016. Maggie Zhang, AIG’s Regional Head of HR, North Asia, and Head of HR, Hong Kong, and Peter Gregoire, AIG Hong Kong’s General Counsel and Chairperson of AIG Hong Kong’s Young Talent Employee Resource Group, accepted the award on behalf of AIG.
Rudi Spaan, AIG Hong Kong’s President and CEO, commented, “Diversity and inclusion are key ingredients to any company’s long-term success. The world is rapidly changing and at a different pace in every social and economic sub-segment. Maximizing opportunity and understanding the different ‘needs and wants’ requires diversification of perspective before determining priority and direction. In AIG, we value different opinions and cultures while working and learning together with our clients.”
