For the sixth consecutive year, AIG has achieved a 100% rating in the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index and earned recognition as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBT equality. The 100% Corporate Equality Index ranking recognizes companies that demonstrate a commitment to fairness and inclusion for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender employees.

Companies with ratings of 100% are included in the Human Rights Campaign’s “Best Places to Work” list and “Buying for Workplace Equality” guide. The “Best Places to Work” list recognizes those companies that fulfill best practices for LGBT inclusion. The “Buying for Workplace Equality” guide helps consumers identify businesses with a commitment to LGBT equality and corporate social responsibility.

Throughout the year, AIG’s LGBT & Allies Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) have done great work to help support our employees and further develop an LGBT friendly workplace. AIG currently has nine LGBT & Allies ERGs, whose members participate in external Pride parades, conduct workshops to raise awareness about the LGBT community, help educate AIG employees about LGBT issues, and conduct outreach in the communities that we serve.

AIG Chief Financial Officer Sid Sankaran commented, “As Executive Sponsor of the New York Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Allies Employee Resource Group, I am proud of our ERGs’ commitment to partnering with colleagues throughout our global organization to ensure that AIG has once again been recognized as an employer of choice.”
