Storage Tank Liability Insurance (TankGuard®)

Storage Tank Liability Insurance (TankGuard®) provides environmental pollution coverage for third-party claims for bodily injury and property damage resulting from pollution conditions from scheduled underground or aboveground storage tanks. TankGuard’s coverage extends to corrective actions and cleanup required by federal and state regulations resulting from such pollution conditions. The policy is also an efficient way for companies to fulfill federal and state storage tank financial responsibility requirements.

  • Available to a wide range of classes including petroleum and motor fuel distribution fleet facilities, petroleum marketers, gasoline service stations and convenience store chains
  • Premium starts at $500 and a credit to premium is available for insureds that employ state-of-the-art underground storage tank technology
  • Can be structured to meet government mandated financial responsibility requirements while conserving working capital
  • Provides environmental pollution coverage for on- and off-site 3rd party bodily injury and property damage claims resulting from scheduled tanks
  • Provides environmental pollution coverage for cleanup or corrective action due to releases from scheduled storage tanks
  • Defense expenses provided within the limits of liability
  • Limits available up to: $10 million occurrence and $10 million aggregate
  • Target Classes: Petroleum and motor fuel distribution fleet facilities and garages, Petroleum marketers, Gasoline service stations, Trucking and distribution operations and Convenience store chains
