Incidents such as kidnapping, ransom demand and extortion were until recently quite unknown and rare in this country. Unfortunately, with the constant increase of crime, such malicious acts occur in Greece more and more often. We all remember events such as the kidnapping of a known businessman in Thessaloniki and the passengers of a Florina bus service who were held as hostages.

But even the dynamic expansion of Greek enterprises in Eastern Europe, Middle East and North Africa can involve such risks.

Irrespective of the feeling of threat to our everyday lives, the above incidents always attract the media and result in significant costs for the companies involved.

The "Kidnap, Ransom and Extortion" insurance programme by AIG GREECE is a new and unique programme which protects individuals and enterprises in cases of kidnap, ransom and extortion (for Bodily Injury and / or Material Damages and /or malicious product deterioration), since it covers ransom or extorted money amounts, loss of ransom in transit, death or disability of the insured person, deteriorated product withdrawal costs, loss of income due to suspension of business, as well as specialised consulting services costs.
