Information You Provide
The types of information requested from you and the manner in which that information is collected and assessed are determined by the requirements of the country in which the position is located, and not the country in which you reside. This Notice covers any personal information you submit through the Careers Site as part of the job application or job search process including:
- First name, middle Initial and surname, employee id, work address, e-mail and telephone details
- Registration login and password
- Details contained in letters of application and CV/résumé, previous employment background, education history
- Professional qualifications and other work-related licenses, certifications, certification expiration dates, professional memberships and awards
- Language(s) and other relevant skills
- Employment preferences, willingness and eligibility to relocate, desired salary, available start date
- How you heard about the position and information relating to references.
You may also voluntarily choose to provide other relevant information as part of your application. We would prefer that you avoid submitting the following sensitive information, except where such information is legally required: sexual orientation, race, ethnic origin, religion, beliefs, disability, marital status, creed, nationality, national origin, color and/or age.
If you intend to provide us with details of a reference or any other third party as part of your CV/résumé, it is your responsibility to obtain consent from that third party prior to passing the personal information to us. You are responsible for the content of the information you provide to us and you must ensure it is legal, truthful, accurate; the information provide must not mislead or infringe on any third party’s rights such that it would be otherwise legally actionable.
Use of Personal Information
Personal information provided by you through the Careers Site will be collected, used, transferred and disclosed (“processed”) by AIG for global recruitment functions and related management and planning purposes. As permitted by local law, AIG will use the personal information to:
- Process your application
- Assess your capabilities and qualifications for a job
- Conduct reference checks
- Provide any services available to you on the Careers Site from time to time
- Communicate with you
- Comply with any applicable law or regulation
- Monitor and record services whether provided by a AIG company or a third party
- Conduct background checks if you are offered a job.
Personal information about you will be added to AIG’s international candidate database and will be used for the purposes of considering whether your qualifications are suitable for other employment positions available at AIG. This Notice does not constitute an offer or promise of employment with respect to any employment position posted or described on the Careers Site. If we elect to make you an offer, personal information you submit may be incorporated into our human resources system and used to manage the new-hire process. If you become an employee, any personal information that you submit may become part of your employee file and may be used for other employment/work-related purposes.
Disclosure of Personal Information
Personal information about you will be reviewed by AIG employees or agents who have a business need to access such personal information which may include recruiters, human resources personnel, technical services personnel and managers or their designees. We may share personal information about you with selected service providers or consultants acting on our behalf, such as third parties assisting AIG with the operation of the Careers Site. Those third parties will be required to protect personal information.
AIG may disclose personal information about you in order to: (1) protect the legal rights, privacy or safety of AIG or its employees, agents and contractors; (2) protect the safety and security of visitors to our web sites or other properties; (3) protect against fraud or other illegal activity or for risk management purposes; (4) respond to inquiries or requests from government or public authorities; (5) permit us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain; (6) enforce our enforce our policies; or (7) comply with the law or legal process.

AIG may transfer any and all information that we collect about you to third parties in the event of any change in the corporate structure of AIG such as, but not limited to, merger, consolidation, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of AIG's assets or stock (including without limitation in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings).
We are required to retain information relating to candidates applying for jobs within the United States. Personal information you submit for jobs outside of the United States will be retained in accordance with local law. When your file becomes inactive, your information may be anonymized, consistent with relevant legal and regulatory obligations. Note that AIG may delete personal information about you at any time (including your CV/résumé), for any reason. Therefore, please retain your own copy of the personal information provided to us.
Passive Information Collection: Cookies and Similar Technology
Access and Correction
If you choose to register on the Careers Site, you may access, review, and change some of the personal information collected and stored about you by logging into the Careers Site and choosing to update your account information. The updated profile will be used as the default profile next time you apply for a job through your online account. If you would like to change personal information that was previously submitted for consideration, please resubmit your application to the specific position with your updated personal information.

We take reasonable precautions to safeguard the personal information stored on our servers and transmitted between visitors and the Careers Site. Unfortunately, no method of transmitting or storing data can guarantee 100% security. Do not send sensitive information via email.
